Shag, Salsa, Ballroom and Line Daning
Terri Beason has returned for another season of fitness fun. Terri will begin this Spring's line up with line dancing, shag and new to this year's roster...Salsa! What a wonderful way to get your hour of cardio and be the hit of your summer parties at the same time!
All dance lessons are $20.00 per session, per person.

  - sponsored by the Presbyterian Hospital Matthews Wellness Center- Monthly "Lunch & Learn" meetings - A fun, effective group that "eats to learn." Each meeting starts with a pot-luck luncheon followed by informative speakers covering a variety of topics to help everyone learn the elements of continued care. Topics range from acute and chronic diseases and ailments to lunch & learn sessions that discuss pertinent topics of the time (i.e. Medicare prescription cards). Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month and are FREE to both members and non-members.

WaTerPaRk OpENs - Friday, May 27th Memorial Day Weekend Just a few Waterpark reminders and tid-bits of information: Our hours of operation will be: May 27th - June 14th Mondays - Fridays 10a.m. - 7p.m. June 15th - Aug. 21st Mondays - Fridays 10a.m. - 8p.m.*
Weekend Hours Saturdays 10a.m. - 7p.m. Sundays 1p.m. - 7p.m.
*Hours of operation are subject to change due to weather, staffing and school schedules.
Waterpark Birthday Partiesare available Mondays - Fridays (excluding holidays) for 15 children. Fee: $85 (Call the front desk for more information) Remember, we love to have guest, BUT we do not want to dis-place our monthly paying members with too many guests. Therefore, MAFC has a guest policy for the water park that differs from the main facility. During May, June, and holiday weekends guests are allowed Monday through Thursday to prevent overcrowding for our members. No guests are permitted on holidays or on weekends until July 11th.
Scuba Certifications

The MAFC offers year round NAUI scuba courses. All coures levels through Instructor are available.
Through Diver Style Scuba you can earn your certification, get recertified and/or experience great excursions. Of all the scuba certification programs available, NAUI is the premiere "education" program. Once NAUI scuba certified, you are ready to dive anywhere in the world. Training varies based the class you choose.
Sessions are split between classroom and pool instruction. After successfully completing your training, you will be able to secure your Open Water Evaluation or sign up for a fantastic scuba adventure through Diver Style Scuba.
Open Water Evaluations are for new divers and are scheduled separately and are an additional cost. Combine your Open Water Evaluation with one of the many exciting scuba excursions.

Lifeguard Training Certifications - Are you 15 or older and looking for a great summer job or challenging career? Lifeguarding will help you develop skills and experiences that will be valued by colleges and future employers. Participants will learn the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Upon successful completion of the course, each new lifeguard will receive certifications in Lifeguard Training and Community First Aid vaild for (3) years and CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) valid for (1) year.
