 Parent's Night Out

   June 25th!


Let Your Kids Enjoy A Friday Night With Us...
Friday is Parent's Night! This is a perfect time for Mom and Dad to enjoy an evening together while your kids are safe and having a BLAST with us.  Make sure to pack towel and bathing suit because we plan to take full advantage of the entire facility. Mom and Dad take some time for yourselves . . . your kids really want you to! Space is limited and Parent's Night Out fills quickly. Please register your child in advance. Registration Deadline: Please register by Thursday morning following the event. 
Ages: 4-12 years
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Cost: $8.00/child (includes dinner and their "special" craft)




Scuba Adventure For Kids & Adults

This is your chance to experience the worlds #1 water sport!  Trained divers from The Diver's Style will assist kids ready to dawn a mask and some flippers.  What a great chance to do something you've always wanted to do . . . and affordabley priced. You will go completely under the water in our indoor pool and experience why so many people have made scuba diving a year-round sport. Safe, Fun and oh, what an adventure!

SUMMER CAMP– just a peek at what's in store!
It truly is the Coolest, Hottest Place in Union County! Well organized, well supervised w/ both male and female counselors our Day Camp W/ A Splash promises to intrigue and fatigue. Below is an idea of what your child will experience. If you need a camp registration packet, and are an active-current MAFC member, contact Mary Ked Drive MAFC's Kids Program Director (704) 282-4688 or mdriver@monroenc.org.

Camp Registration is Saturday March 14th, starting at 8am. Registration is a first pay, first serve basis based on active, current MAFC membership.

*Sample Schedule:
7am - 8am  Drop-off
8:00am - 9:15am  Morning Assembly/Snack (includes free time, games, cards and coloring)
9:15am - 11:30am  Groups rotate through outside organized games/inside crafts/drama/music
11:30am - 12:30pm  Lunch
12:30pm - 2:30pm  Mon/Wed/Fri = Swim at MAFC's waterpark  OR  Tues/Thurs = Field trips
2:30pm - 4:30pm 
Organized activities - groups rotate through outside organized games/inside crafts/drama/music which they did not attend in the morning time slot (9:15am - 11:30am)
4:30pm  Snack (with Snow Ice visiting on Mondays and Wednesdays)
5pm - 6pm  Pick-up (free time, board games, cards, coloring)

Week 1 - Zumma Fun Center (fee includes lunch)
Week 2 - Nascar Speedpark (fee includes lunch)
Week 3 - Lazy 5 Ranch (need to bring a lunch)
Week 4 - Carowinds (bring a lunch)
Week 5 - Extreme Ice Center (bring a lunch)
Week 6 - Carolina Lanes (fee includes lunch)
Week 7 - Kate's Skating Rink (includes lunch)
Week 8 - Discovery Place (need to bring a lunch)
*Field trip fees are in addition to the weekly camp fees. This allows MAFC to charge exactly what is necessary to conduct the trip without charging parents extra.




Spring '09

Lifeguard Training Certifications - Starts November 3rd
Are you 15 or older and looking for a great summer job or challenging career? Lifeguarding will help you develop skills and experiences that will be valued by colleges and future employers. Participants will learn the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Upon successful completion of the course, each new lifeguard will receive certifications in Lifeguard Training and Community First Aid vaild for (3) years and CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) valid for (1) year. Class Days and Times: Tues/Thurs/Fri's /Sat.'s/Sun. from 7/7/09 - 7/14/09

Days & Times: Tues = 4pm-9pm Thurs= 4pm-9pm, Friday = 4pm-9pm, Saturday = 10a-4p, Sunday =  3p-7p
COST:    $75.00 for members OR $125.00 for non-members

SUMMER TIME - Kids Quest~
 

 
KID's QUEST
- It`s Back 
YOU`RE OUT!!!! - Dodgeball Style! - Kid Quest will re-emerge and take the gymnasium by storm. We will enjoy such games as monkey ball, indoor soccer, balloon stomp and the ever-popular DODGE-BALL. Kids Quest is a FREE event for current/active MAFC members, but they need to be pre-registered if they want to participate. This can be done at the Front Desk. Traditional Okinawan Karate
      For Kids and Adults

Isshin-Ryu Karate is a traditional Okinawan form of Karate that became very popular with Marines stationed in Okinawa during and after WWII. It emphasizes self-discipline, basic stances, kicks, hand techniques and self defense techniques. Our limited class sizes provided more indiviualized instruction and all classes are taught by black belts with a rank of 3rd degree or higher. Learn how to move, kick, punch and block properly focusing on respect as the cornerstone on which all true martial arts is built. A karate uniform is not necessary. Students should wear comfortable, loose clothing (sweats). Classes will accommodate beginning students as well as the advanced. Classes are for students 8 and older.
