Group Fitness Class Descriptions:

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR JULY/AUGUST:
There are NO CLASSES (land & water) on Friday, July 4th and Saturday, July 5th.
PARENT/CHILD ZUMBA is a 7-week FREE family program.  The child(ren) must be 9-13 years of age and attend/participate with an adult.  The first class is on July 11th and the last class is on August 22nd.  Participants must pre-register for each week at the Front Desk.
*Special Needs Yoga:  Starting on Wednesday, July 23rd the class will be concentrating on SENIORS (over 65 years) WITH BACK PAIN.  This Wednesday Program will last for 6 weeks (ending August 27th).  Participants of all ages (14 years and up) with any Special Need may still attend class.

The maximum number for Studio A is 35 participants, the maximum number for Studio B is 30 participants and the maximum number for the Meeting Room is 25 participants.  If you intend to take a popular class, be sure to arrive early to secure a spot.

Description of each class below:
(For your convenience, each class has a fitness level recommendation; however, any adult member is welcome in any class and may work at their own pace and fitness level.)

Pilates
Make everyday life easier by improving your flexibility, posture and core body strength. Participants will perform a certain sequence of exercises while lying on a mat.  In an emergency situation, an instructor substitution may cause a pilates class to become a yoga class.
All levels.

Half  'n' Half
Half of the time you will move all over participating in high-energy floor aerobics. The other half will be spend toning your muscles.  Work at your own fitness level to burn calories and have fun along the way.
Abdominal and stretching included.
All Levels.

Combo
Work up a sweat in this class!  The class time is split - half of the cardio time is spent participating in step aerobics and the other half is floor aerobics. 
Intermediate and Advanced.

Cycle
Join our instructor on our StarTrac Spinners for a cardio class that will accomplish all your fitness needs. The 45 minute warm-up and ride will end with a stretch and abdominal work with time permitting. All levels.

Funk Aerobics/Hip Hop Cardio
Move and groove to the latest dance steps put together in a low-impact funk aerobics format.
All levels

Zumba
Great for the mind and the body, ZUMBA utilizes a fusion of Latin and International music to motivate toning one's body.  The routines combine fast and slow, easy and fun dance steps.  Numbered tickets for evening Zumba classes will be given out 30 minutes prior to class start time.
All levels

Introduction to Aerobics/Step/Combo/ Half 'n' Half / Weights
The any class beginning with the title "Intro" is the best class for someone starting an exercise program. Learn basic movements and terminology for each class. Each class will burn calories and get you started in the right direction. Great for beginners, seniors or those with health needs.
Beginners.

Interval/Step Interval
A high-energy fat burner. These classes involves short intervals of high intensity aerobic moves combined with a short recovery period. An effective way to increase your cardiovascular fitness as well as burn calories. Abdominal work included.
Intermediate and Advanced.

Step & Sculpt
After the instructor leads you through a warm-up/stretch, you will spend the first half of class participating in step aerobics and the second half utilizing equipment to sculpt your muscles.
Intermediate and Advanced

Kickboxing
A non-choreographed class to bring your athletic abilities. It includes basic punches, blocks, kicks, and self defense skills. Also includes power and plyometric moves to develop muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, balance,
coordination, and mental-development. Work to your limits but maximize your potential.  Classes are offered for all three levels.
Intro to Kickboxing - Beginners / Kickboxing - Intermediate & Advanced

Boot Camp / Circuit / Step Circuit
Get the most out of this all-around class by performing both cardio and strengthening exercises.
All Levels.

Circuit A/B
While starting out in Studio A, the instructors will lead participants in both cardio (Studio A) and strengthening (Studio B) exercises.
All levels

Step
Get your cardio workout by maximizing your athletic ability!  Have fun in this fat-burning calss while moving on and around the step.
Intermediate and Advanced

Total Body
These classes are for those who want to redefine and challenge their muscular system to increase their strength and endurance. Utilizing hand weights, bars and bands, this class will tone and reshape all those difficult areas.
All Levels.

Yoga
There is a variety of yoga classes to choose from.  The classes range from Beginning yoga to Viniyoga to Special Needs yoga. Each class focuses on proper breathing, flexibility and core body strength.
All Levels.


Pumping Iron
Learn to incorporate heavier weights into your body toning workout. The instructor will help you develop muscle so that you can burn calories. Perfect for building muscle and bone density.
All Levels.

Cardio Craze / Cardio Express
Need some cardio?  This class is for you!  The instructor will lead participants through 55 minutes  (25 minutes in Cardio Express) of cardio cross-training.  Challenge yourself and the most important muscle in your body - your heart.
Intermediate and Advanced

Toning
No equipment needed - just you and a mat.  The instructor will guide you through exercises geared to strengthen, tighten and tone your muscles.
All levels.

30-30-30
This class is divided into approximately 30 minute increments of step aerobics, floor aerobics and toning/strength work. 
All levels

Bands & Balls
A total body class to increase muscular strength and endurance by utilizing the Resist-a-Balls and Dyna-Bands.
All levels

Bosu Circuit
BOSU stands for "Both Sides Up".  Get the most out of this all-around class by utilizing the bosus for both cardio and strengthening exercises.
Intermediate and Advanced

Abs & Glutes
In this half hour class, the instructor will take you through several different exercises that concentrate on toning a specific area of your body.
All levels

 


Group Fitness classes are included in your membership. Registration is not required; however, class size is limited to 35 participants for Studio A, 30 participants for Studio B and 25 participants for yoga/pilates in the Meeting Room. Be sure to arrive early to secure a spot. Group Fitness class schedules and times are published bi-monthly. Members age 14 and over are welcome in Group Fitness classes.
